Who will my child go to if there is a problem? (Prep School)
In the Prep School, your child has several trusted adults they can turn to if something is worrying them.
The first person is usually their Class Teacher, who sees them every day and knows them well. Class Teachers keep an eye on both your child’s learning and their well‑being.
Class Teachers are supported by a wider Prep pastoral team, which may include:
- The Head of Prep
- Teaching Assistants in the class
- The Prep Pastoral lead
- The Prep SENCo or learning support staff (if appropriate)
- The School Nurse / Health Centre
- The Chaplaincy team or pastoral lead for younger pupils
In the Prep School we place a strong emphasis on helping children talk about their feelings in simple, age‑appropriate ways. Pupils are encouraged to tell an adult if they are worried about friendships, learning, or anything at home or school.
If your child boards in Prep, the House Parents and residential staff are also available, and older pupils often act as kind, informal role models.
