Who will my child go to if there is a problem? (Senior School)

Your child has several trusted adults they can go to at Leweston, depending on the situation and what feels most comfortable for them.

Pastoral care is central to life at Leweston. We are committed to providing an environment that inspires warmth, confidence, creativity, and personal development for all pupils, whether they are day pupils or boarders.

For most pupils, the first point of contact is their Form Tutor. Tutors see pupils every day and keep a close eye on both their academic progress and their personal well‑being.

Tutors are supported by a wider pastoral team, which includes:

  • Heads of Year
  • Director of Boarding and House Parents
  • Health Centre nurses
  • Chaplaincy Team
  • School Counsellor
  • Deputy Head Pastoral

Leweston has also created a full‑time, non‑teaching Pastoral Lead role. This position supports pupils with issues such as resilience, friendship concerns, emotional development, and general pastoral worries. Robyn also runs pastoral seminars for parents on topics including supporting an anxious teenager, coping with exams, and encouraging healthy sleep.

For boarders, the House Parents are always on hand, and older boarding students and prefects often act as informal mentors and role models.

You can find more detailed information about our approach on the Pastoral Care page of our website.
