Who looks after pupils when they first arrive in the Senior School?
New pupils are supported by a team of staff and older students to help them settle quickly and feel at home.
At the start of the academic year in September, all new pupils are invited into school the day before term begins for an induction and orientation. This gives them time to explore the site, meet key staff, and get used to routines before the rest of the school arrives.
Whenever a pupil joins, they are given a guardian – another pupil from the same year group who looks after them, helps them find their way around, and supports them with daily routines.
They are also matched with a peer mentor, a trained Sixth Former who acts as a mentor to a younger student. This relationship begins in the first term but often continues beyond, giving new pupils a consistent older role model.
Throughout this time, Form Tutors, Heads of Year, and House Parents are also on hand to care for new arrivals and offer extra support until they feel fully settled in the Senior School.
