What are the rules regarding electronic devices in the boarding house?

All boarders must follow Leweston’s Mobile Phone Policy.

Devices must be handed in 30 minutes before lights out. This is to support a sensible bedtime routine and promote good sleep. Devices are locked away securely in the House Parents’ offices overnight. No pupils, including day pupils, may use mobile phones during the school day.

International boarders whose parents are in a significantly different time zone may use their phones in the EAL (English as an Additional Language) room at an appropriate time. After they have made their call, phones should be handed in to the Director of International Students.

Misuse of devices or failure to follow these rules may result in House Parents restricting device use for a period of time.

Sixth Form students are permitted to have their devices but usage is confined to certain areas of the school and the Housestaff reserve the right to remove them overnight if they are having an impact on the student's sleep or work pattern.
