Do I need insurance?

Some insurance is included automatically, but families are strongly advised to arrange additional cover.

What the school already provides

  • Personal Accident Scheme

    • All pupils are automatically covered under the school’s Personal Accident Scheme.
    • There is no extra charge for this cover.
  • School insurance for personal effects

    • Limited to fire and theft only – it does not cover loss.
    • If an item is suspected stolen, it must be reported to the police so that a claim can be made.

What parents should arrange

  • Parents are strongly advised to take out their own insurance for pupils’ personal effects, as school cover is limited.
  • Sums of money are not insured under the school policy, so any money brought into school should be handed in for safe keeping.
  • We advise that valuable items are not brought to school, and that all personal possessions are clearly marked with the pupil’s name.

Optional schemes via the school

The school can offer the following optional schemes:

  • Optional Personal Effects Scheme
  • Additional Accident Insurance
  • AXA Healthcare

Medical insurance for international students

  • International students staying for less than 6 months are covered by the NHS for emergency treatment only.
  • It is strongly recommended that they also have personal health/medical insurance to cover non‑emergency care.
